Box 187
Craig, CO 81626
Re: Minor Revision 95 - Small Area Exemptions - Trapper Mine - C-81-O10
Dear Mr. Agnew:
We have received and reviewed the above-referenced minor revision
application. The application was received on February 15, 1990, and a
decision was due by February 25, 1990. However, some additional information
will be necessary before we can grant approval. As discussed, the deadline
will be extended (new deadline: P4arch 9, 1990).
"Small area exemptions" can only be approved under the conditions discussed at
Rule 4.05.2(3). The Division generally requires the following information:
1. a map showing the "small area" locations;
2. acreage estimates for each area; and,
3. details regarding the measures taken to ensure that the applicable
effluent limitations will not be exceeded (i.e., drainage control
techniques such as silt fence, berms, gravel filters, etc.)
The information supplied for "small area" no. 5 (W. Pyeatt topsoil pile) is
sufficient. The following information will be needed regarding the other
"small areas":
1. Please provide details regarding the measures in place at
"small areas" nos. 1, 3 and 4 to ensure the provisions of
Rule 4.05.2(3) are being met. Some type of control system
(i.e. berms, silt fence, etc.) must be described and implemented.
Delete nos. 3 and 4 if they no longer exist.
2. If "small areas" nos. 3 and 4 still exist, provide a revised
Idap M51 which clearly shows the locations.
3. Revise page 4-248 as necessary to incorporate the above-requested
information.
