In TR-45, BRL is proposing to reduce the subsidence monitoring
program at the Bowie No. 1 Mine by eliminating the monitoring of thirteen wide-spaced monuments.
As a reminder, BRL had submitted TR-40 in November of 2001, in which BRL requested the
termination of all subsidence monitoring at the Bowie No. 1 Mine. You did the adequacy review for
TR-40 and sent me an adequacy review memo dated December 1 I, 2001. TR-40 was ultimately
withdrawn by BRL. I am sure that referring to your TR-40 memo will speed up your adequacy review
of TR-45. I have a copy of your TR-40 memo if you need it.
Attached is one complete copy of the TR-45 submittal. The adequacy review letter is due December
27, 2004. If I could have your comments by December 23, I would appreciate it. If you need
additional time, please let me know. Thanks for your help.
Attachments
ce: Sandy Brown (without attachments)
Dan Hernandez (without attachments)
c:/word bowie 1 /tr45memo 1
Office of Office of Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey
