The Skclton gravel operation was leased to United
Companies of Mesa County, Inc. in January, 1996. I have a number of questions and concerns regarding this
operation and the adjacent operation owned by San Miguel County. A few of my questions are listed on an
attaclunent. I am requesting a hearing on the application.
1 never received a return phone ca{I Gom the specialist assigned to the United application. Altaclred is a list
of preliminary questions on this permit. 1 would like to review the current pemrit they are operating under.
When I purchased my land next to Skelton in 1991, your office informed me that the gravel operation was
covered under an existing pemut Glcd in Montrose County and included the 3.84 acres in San Miguel County.
This was incorrect. The 3.84 acres in San Miguel County are not covered by a Mining Reclanwlion Pcmrit.
I also have questions regarding the San Miguel County Norwood Pit M-81-154 Com~ersion application.
Sin
Q~ j'~~~~7'YL -
Mary Ann Gaston
