The application addresses changes to the
reclamation plan requirements. The application cannot be approved until the following issues are
adequately addressed. Please submit a response to the following issues as soon as possible, but
no later than March 20, 2003 so DMG staff have adequate time to review the responses prior to
the decision due date set for March 26, 2003. If your respohse, or a written request for extension
of the decision due date, are not received by March 20, 2003 this application may be denied.
ADEQUACY ISSUES (numbered as in the technical revision re4uestl
1. Though water no longer flows through the Don Quixote ditch, irrigation of the site may still
be possible by using a water truck or other means to convey water to. the site. Irrigation is
hot required for the long term, just long enough to get the vegetation established. DMG
received a phone call from the property owner, indicating that water is'still available for the
site. Please contact the landowner to discuss details regarding irrigation options. If
irrigation for the site is no longer available, the reclamation seed mix should most likely be
revised to include dry land shrubs and grasses.
2. Though the approved post-mining land use does allow for agricultural use and/or building
sites, which would include corrals and farm equipment, the landowner has specified that the
location of the mine site would not be a location where he would want storage or corrals.
Again, please contact the landowner to discuss details regarding reclamation and post-
mining land use options. If the concrete pads or any other structures are to remain on site
as permanent features, DMG will require submittal of a written statemeht from the
landowner, signed and notarized, indicating each structure that is approved to remain as a
permanent feature.
3. It is unclear what this statement means.
4. Please be aware that this technical revision is not required to be notarized by you as the
operator. Please submit a reclamation map that indicates how the ,site will look after
reclamation, including all permanent features. Please show all areas to be revegetated, and
