Permit M77-424 Amendment 1
EXHIBIT A
LEGAL DESCRIPTION
Exhibit A
The water transmission pipeline extends from the sealed L-I Portal of Logan Wash Mine
located in SE1/4 SW1/4 Section 25 Township 7 South, Range 97 West, to the
evaporation pond located in SW 1/4 Section 29, Township 7 South, Range 97 West. The
approximate total length of the pipeline is 5.3 miles from the sealed portal to the pond.
However, the portion of the pipeline from the L-1 portal to the fonner Heater Treater area
(Area 15, Exhibit E in mine permit) was originally permitted as a water pipeline that was
associated with oil recovery from the retorts. The pipeline was later converted to the
retort water pipeline. Therefore, the portion of the water transmission pipeline that
technically applies to this permit amendment extends from the former Heater Treater area
to the evaporation pond, an estimated pipeline distance of 25,540 feet.
Water Transmission Pipeline
The legal description and affected land for the water transmission pipeline is as follows:
NE1/4 SW1/4, NW1/4 SWl/4 S25 T7S R97W
NE1/4 SE1/4, SEI/4 SEl/4, SWI/4 SEl/4, SEl/4 SW1/4, SW1/4 SW1/4 S26 T7S R97W
SEI/4 SEI/4, SWl/4 SEI/4, SEI/4 SWI/4, SWI/4 SWI/4 S27 T7S R97W
SE1/4 SEl/4, NEl/4 SEl/4, NWl/4 SE1/4, NEl/4 SWI/4, NW1/4 SWl/4 S28 T7S
R97W
NW 1/4 SW1/4, NE1/4 SWl/4, NEl/4 SEl/4, NWl/4 SEl/4, SE1/4 NEl/4, SWl/4
NE1/4, SE1/4 NW1/4, NEl/4 SWI/4, NWl/4 SWl/4, SEI/4 SWl/4 S29 T7S R97W
NWl/4 NEl/4 NEl/4 NW1/4 S34 T7S R97W
Evaporation Pond
The legal description and affected land for the evaporation pond is as follows:
SWI/4 SW1/4, SE1/4 SWl/4, S29 T7S R97W
The approximate latitude and longitude location of the pond entrance is:
Latitude: 39°24'48"
Longitude: 108° 14'47'
Mine Entrance
The main mine entrance is specified as the beginning of the Upper Access Road which
intersects the main Logan Wash Road at an elevation of approximately 7,400 fr above
mean sea level (amsl) in SW1/4 SWI/4 S25 T7S R97W.
