Permit M77-424 Amendment 1 EXHIBIT A LEGAL DESCRIPTION Exhibit A Page 1 of 2 The water transmission pipeline extends from the sealed L-I Portal of Logan Wash Mine located in SE1/4 SW1/4 Section 25 Township 7 South, Range 97 West, to the evaporation pond located in SW 1/4 Section 29, Township 7 South, Range 97 West. The approximate total length of the pipeline is 5.3 miles from the sealed portal to the pond. However, the portion of the pipeline from the L-1 portal to the fonner Heater Treater area (Area 15, Exhibit E in mine permit) was originally permitted as a water pipeline that was associated with oil recovery from the retorts. The pipeline was later converted to the retort water pipeline. Therefore, the portion of the water transmission pipeline that technically applies to this permit amendment extends from the former Heater Treater area to the evaporation pond, an estimated pipeline distance of 25,540 feet.
