Mr. Gregg Squire - 2 -
Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Division
•
7/31/85
During the course of our initial topsoil stripping operations in the Johnson Dam
/~10 area, an unmarked high-pressure gas line was encountered. As a result, the
pond location was moved 300 feet up-drainage leaving a small disturbed area
(approximately 0.4 acres) downstream from our last pond. The topsoil has since
been replaced and a small area exemption is requested to cover this area. Ero-
sion cloth and straw bales are in place near our permit boundary and down-drain-
age from the disturbance. Once the area is seeded these structures will be
removed. However, erosion of the site should be slight due to the small area
involved and the relatively level nature of the disturbance.
We will assume that since this is a modification of an already approved plan,
Trapper Mine may continue with the construction in Johnson Gulch. It is impor-
tant to both Trapper and the Division that [he above described activity be done
prior to foul weather. If the Division has any major objections to the proposed
revision or this assumption, please let us know as soon as possible.
Best regards,
~/L~,Ge-~i"
• HBH/JMM/jb
Enclosure
cc: R.L.
