RECLAMATION PLAN
Exhibit E
LITTLE JOHNSON AMENDMENT
Reclamation Plan
Selected Final Land Use
In the existing permit, a final land use ofrange-pasture-wildlife was selected to allow for
revegetation of the land as it is mined. That final land use remains. "Revegetation" would be the most
accurate description of the reclamation goal, but that is not a final land use. The above selected
combination provides for revegetation and for the flexibility to change that use as the operation nears
completion.
Many different uses for this land are being considered at this time, including reservoir
construction, aquifer recharge, highway construction, recreation, and a number of other options.
However, nothing has been finalized at this time. Therefore, using the most flexible end use is most
appropriate. Many of these uses and possible future changes are part of the process of adjusting land
uses in a growing urban area.
West of Academy Boulevard
No changes in the reclamation plan are needed for this area at this time. Virtually the entire
permitted area west of Academy Boulevard is being used for something. The existing plan is still
being implemented, but changes maybe needed in the future as the operation approaches completion.
East of Academy Boulevard
For the most part, the existing plan remains in effect for the portion of the operation located
east of Academy. As noted previously, some minor adjustments have been made in some of the
reclamation contours in specific areas, but throughout most of the site the existing plan fully applies.
Most of the following discussion pertains to the Little Johnson area with some discussion as to how
this area will merge with the existing plan.
Daniels Sand Pit #2 -Little Johnson Amendment - M-ts~3-oo~ Exhibit E Page 1
