Determination of Watershed Parameters cont.
Page 2
K Factor - The soil erodibility factor was determined as an area weighted aver-
age. Determination of the K factor for each subarea is shown in
Sedimentology Parameters.
Lambda - Lambda is the slope length as shown on map TR-486-1.
Theta - Theta is the slope angle.
LS Factor - The length-slope factor was calculated by:
LS = Lambda/72.6)'s((430xZ + 30x + 0.43)/6.613)
Barfield, et al., 1981)
' where x = sin theta)
m = .3 for slopes < 3%
m = .4 for slopes 3.1 - 4.9%
m = .5 for slopes > 5%
C Factor - The control factor was determined as an area weighted average.
Determination of the C factor for each subarea is shown in Sedimento-
logy Parameters.
P Factor - The practice factor was determined as an area weighted average.
Determination of the P factor for each subarea is shown in Sedimento-
logy Parameters.
CP Factor - The CP factor is the product of the C factor and the P factor.
CRF/jb 8/86
I
Revised 8/86
