(Lafarge) is submitting this Notice of °Oo <br />Temporary Cessation for the North Delta Pit, permit no. M-1979-002. As required in section l~`13.5 <br />of the Construction Materials Rules and Regulations, the following information is kteing supplied to <br />the Division: <br />a) Date of Cessation -Mining activity last occurred at the property in 2002. We request that <br />this cessation go to 2007. <br />b) The Reasons for Non production or Cessation of the Mining Operation <br />This pit is currently in a slow market for construction materials and is only used for special <br />crushing jobs, such as highway paving projects. <br />c) A Plan for Resumption of Mining <br />Mining at this facility would begin if market conditions become favorable, or if Lafarge is <br />awarded a CDOT contract in the Delta area. No definite date for resumptioli of mining <br />activities has been determined. Lafarge will notify DMG before mining resumes. <br />d) -The Measures to be Taken to Comply with Reclamation Requirements and/i7r other Activities <br />Related to Performance Standards of Section 3.1 while the Mine is in Temporary Cessation <br />During temporary cessation, Lafarge will continue to implement the weed control program <br />submitted to DMG. The site will be inspected periodically by Lafarge or a designated <br />representative to prevent accumulation ofnon-mining related materials. Lafarge does not <br />anticipate other reclamation activities to be required during the temporary cessation. The <br />other items noted in your inspection report of January, 2005 will be completed also. <br />e) Demonstration that the Existing Financial Warranty is Adequate to Cover the Reclamation <br />Liability <br />An updated reclamation bond was mailed to Barbara Chiapponne at the DMG Denver office <br />Monday April 25, 2005.
