EXHIBIT G -Water Information
1. There is one small wetland area associated with a small tributary stream identified within
the proposed area of operation. The wetland area lies along the low areas adjacent to the
stream located in the southern portion of the proposed permit azea. Approximately 6
acres in the southernlsoutheast portion of the site will he separated by silt fencing from
the active areas of the site and remain undisturbed. Mining of the gravel ridges will
avoid this area and will be done at an elevation that will not expose any groundwater.
Z. No surface wafer or groundwater will he intercepted or exposed. Sift fences, straw bates
and/or berms will be used in active mining areas to contain stormwaters so that they will
not affect [he wetland area with sediments or mining activities. Site storm waters will be
handled as specified in the Stonmva[er Management Plan (SWMP) required by a CDPHE
Stormwa[er Permit which has been filed for the Gray Pit N 2 {a copy of the application is
contained in Exhibit M). The groundwater table will not be impacted by this operation.
There are no wells in the proposed area or within 200 feet of the proposed area of
operations.
The proposed permit area has no stock ponds, streams, ditches or reservoirs, (other than
the stream/wetland) which receive drainage and/or runoff from storm events. A tributary
to Cedar Creek lies to the east of [he proposed permit area between the permit boundary
and [he County Road R.O.W. and receives the drainage from the onsite stream and
wetland. Access to the site will cross this stream. The USACOE has visited the site and
provided their recommendations concerning the crossing and the wetland area.
4. Mobile contract crushing operators may supply their own water needs from an offsite
sources, however, the applicant/owner has irrigation water available within %. mile of the
site for onsite dust abatement and other water needs as long as irrigation allocation needs
are met first. Owner/applicant and any contractor project water requirements would be
for dust suppression on loading and haul road areas and process areas. An estimated
maximum daily volume of 1000 to 3000 gallons would be required for dust control
during these activities. If processing, loading and hauling operations take place for 180
days per year then an estimated 360,000 gallons of water may be required. 1[ is more
than likely that the actual number of days requiring water for dust suppression during
hauling operations will be less than 180 days.
5. General Permit Application for Stormwa[er Discharges Associated with Sand and Gravel
Production Operations (with associated SWMP) has been applied for the Gray Pit g 2.
6. No water rights will be impacted by this operation in compliance with Colorado water
laws and regulations. The operation will comply with [he U.S. Army Core of Engineers
(COE) regulation by not disturbing the wetland described in 1 above according to
conversations with Nick Mezei of the COE. Letter from the COE is attached in Exhibit
M.
