n-i5-1997 1'L~42PM FROM P.3
a. A greater level of reclamation detarl and intensity is required to achieve structural
and habitat stability and diversity.
b. Discuss how your reclamation pL+n can be improved to comply with Mules 6.3 and
6.4 and wrIl achieve the proposed future ]and use.
in relation to the proposed site, the e~osting reclamation plan fails to adequately address the above
mentioned concerns. CDOW encourages DMG to require an updated reclamation plan which
more appropriately addresses the replacement of habitat values on the proposed site. As part of
the updated plan, CDOW would encourage the use of native grass species and replacement of
woody vegetation with like ]cmd and quantity.
Although not specifically stated in the current application, CDOW assumes that conditions agreed
to in developing the existing permit will apply. Specifically, the applicant has agreed to provide
sequential reclamation and limit the disturbed area to no more than 12 acres at nay one time.
CDOW supports these practices and would encourage their implementation on the proposed site.
We appreciate the opportunity to review the proposed action. Ifyou have any questions or to set
up a meeting, please give me a call at (719) 561-4909. .
Sincerely,
Chris Kloster
Habitat Biologist
CROW; Pueblo
cc: Finch, Goforth, Ogilvie, Velarde, De91et
Fremont County Planning Dept.
Terry rreLiad; USFW S
