Mehlhoff, Area Manager <br />SUBJECT: Minor Revision Request (MR109) - Drilling of Four Vent Holes <br />(LW 11-1 to LW11-4) Permit No. C-81-018. Deserado Mine. <br />Personnel from this office have reviewed the above minor revision and <br />anticipate no significant impact from the proposed actions. <br />Therefore, it is recommended that the revisions be approved, with the <br />following stipulations: <br />1. In accordance with NEPA 1969 as amended (P.L. 91-190), FLPMA 1976 <br />(P.L. 94-579), and the Mineral Leasing Act of 1920 as amended, <br />the operator is responsible for informing all persons in the area <br />who are associated with this project that they will be subject to <br />prosecution for knowingly disturbing or collecting vertebrate or <br />other scientifically important fossil resources. If fossil - <br />resources are uncovered during construction the operator is to <br />immediately stop work that might further disturb such materials, <br />and contact the Authorized Officer (AO). Within _five working <br />days the AO will inform the operator as to: <br />the time frame for having an agency specialist <br />examine the fossils to determine if they are <br />vertebrate or not or of scientific value. <br />If the operator wishes, at any time, to relocate activities to <br />avoid the expense of mitigation and/or delays associated with <br />this process they may do so. However, they shall still be <br />responsible for whatever recordation and stabilization of the <br />
