Long <br />Division Director <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 33, Article 34, <br />Section 118, Pazagraph 3 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on December 18, 1995, an application to revise <br />coal mining operations at the New Horizon Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The <br />revision was submitted by Western Fuels-Colorado. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act <br />and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />The revision pertains to the certification of 5th Street as a temporary haulroad. <br />The surface coal mining operation on land located approximately 2.5 miles from Nucla, Colorado. The permit <br />area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of the SW'k Section 25 and the N'fz Section 36, Township 47 North, Range 16 West; <br />the SW'k NW'k, NW'k SW'k Section 31, Township 47 North, Range 15 West; and the E'fi, <br />E'k W'/z Section 6, Township 46 North, Range 15 West. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle snap of Nucla. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Montrose County <br />Courthouse Annex in Nucla and at the Division office. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be <br />submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
