<br />E}G-IIBIT E <br />RECLAMATION PLAN AND TIMETABLE <br />Reclamation Plan. The operator has selected a reclamation plan of rangeland <br />as the most versatile and protective of the land until other plans are adopted. Present land <br />uses aze mining and rangeland. <br />As outlined in the mining plan, backfilling and slope regrading will be part of the <br />clay stockpiling process after the initial individual stockpiles of soil and overburden have <br />been created. The total volume in the soil stockpiles will not exceed 38,000 cubic yazds; <br />overburden piles will not exceed 30,000 cubic yazds. <br />As backfilling and slope grading are completed, recoiling will take place using <br />soils as they become available from the next mining azea. This accomplishes aone-move <br />method for replacing both soil and overburden. <br />A total disturbed azea at any one time will not exceed S0 85 acres. Of that S9 85 <br />acres, no more than a5 40 acres will need partial backfilling and recoiling; any disturbed <br />acreage on the remaining ~5 45 acres will have been backfilled and recoiled and in the <br />fmal stages of reclamation. <br />Reclamation Performance Standazds. The operator intends to operate the <br />site in compliance with the Reclamation Performance Standards of Rule 6. <br />Grading will be performed to create a final topography appropriate to the planned <br />future land use. When backfilling is necessary, the operator will replace overburden and <br />waste materials in the mined area and will insure that heavy equipment used for this <br />purpose is compacting the earth sufficiently well to achieve good stability. All grading <br />will be done in a manner to control erosion and to protect azeas outside the affected land <br />from slides and other damage. All grading will be completed as soon as feasible after the <br />mining process. Any refuse will be handled and disposed of in a manner that will control <br />unsightliness and protect the drainage system from pollution. <br />Draft Revision July 1999 <br />
