The application was <br />submitted by Picketwire Processing, LLC on August 13, 1998, for the New Elk Mine. <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a <br />formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the first publication of this <br />notice by the Division in the Chronicle -News. <br />The underground mine is located approximately 25 miles west of Trinidad, Colorado. The permit area <br />is further described as follows: <br />Township 33 South, Range 67 West <br />Sections 30 and 31 <br />Township 34 South, Range 67 West <br />Section 6 <br />Township 33 South, Range 68 West <br />Sections 13, 14, 21.22. 23, ^_4, 25, 26 <br />Township 34 South, Range 68 West <br />Sections 1 and 2 <br />27, 28, 34, 35, and 36 <br />All sections are partially or fully projected by Basin Resources due to the unsurveyed nature of the <br />Maxwell Land Grant. <br />
