Shuey, Reclamation Specialist <br />R£: Bulldog Mine Reclamation Protect <br />Infiltration Treneh Monitorino <br />December, 1998 Monthlv Reoart <br />Dear Mr. Shuey: <br />Pursuant to the Technical Revision to the Reclamation Permit for the Bulldog Reclamation Project <br />pertaining to installation and operation of an infiltration trench to accommodate seepage from the 9360 <br />edit, altaclLed is a copy of the monthly monitoring data and associated water quality analyses. This is <br />the fourteenth monthly report as required under the approved TR. <br />We continue to control and manage seepage water emanating from the edit. Seepage flows were <br />directed into the infiltration trench at all times. Flow rates directed to the infiltration trench werr, below <br />lire 30 gpm threshold, as noted in the attached summary table. Trench performance continues to meet <br />or exceed expectations. The two (21 vadose zone piezometers adjacent to the infiltration trench were <br />monitored per the Technical Revision conditions. Vadose zone water was not detected in the <br />piezometers nor was there evidence of surface water in the vicinity of the trench. Vadose zone <br />piezometer monitoring data is attached wish other monitoring data for the trench and edit flows. One <br />water quality sample (12.98 Trench Inletl was [aken during the report period on December 4, 1998. <br />Analytical data are attached. <br />In addition, as part of this monthly report and in accordance with the 9360 Level Adit Grosure Monitoring <br />Plait, dated April 1998, Windy Gulch monitoring was continued during this period. Onc water quality <br />sample 112-98 WGL Weir) was taken on December 4, 1998. Analytical data are attached. Minimal flow <br />was observed due to frozen conditions at the weir at the limo of sampling. A visual estimate of less than <br />5 gpm through the existing weir was made at this time. <br />Thank you for your limo and attention on this matter.
