SEP-15-2003 10:33Ai1 FROM-AGGREGATE INDUSTRIES <br />~' <br />~_ <br />Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan <br />New Thom[on Pit <br />August 5, 2D03 <br />1.0 GENERAI, INFORMATION <br />AGGREGATE <br />The purpose of the Spill Prevention Contro] and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan is to provide specific <br />methode that personnel at the facility can use [o comply with the laws and regulations governing the <br />implementation and maintenance of this plan. This plan was prepared to meet the requirements of <br />40 CFR 112 and includes a discussion of conformance with applicable requirements and other effective <br />discharge prevention and containment procedures [§112.7(j) and § ] 12.8(x)]. Appendix, A prorides a table <br />with cross-references between the requirements in 40 CFR 112 and the appropriate section in this SPCC <br />Plan. The SPCC Plan serves as a guideline for all Aggregate Industries employees involved in the <br />handling, transfer, removal, or storage of oil materials (e.g., petroleum, oil, lubricants, used oils) stored at <br />the facility and For persons involved in the inspection of these storage areas. Spill prevention measures at <br />the si[e must include, but need not be limited to, the ttdnimum measures identified herein. The Plant <br />Manager is responsible for maintenance and execution of the plan including, but not limited to, <br />inspections, training, and repoRing of spills. <br />1.1 MANAGEMENT APPROVAL <br />Aggregate Industries is committed to the prevention of dischazges of oil to navigable waters and the <br />environment through the implementation of spill prevention measures. This SPCC plan is one part of that <br />effort. The designated responsible person for spill prevention and cleanup at the site is directly <br />responsible for implementing the plan and communicating the plan ro their employees. The site includes <br />mining pits, conveyors, and classification machinery. The facility consists of the North Property, the <br />South Property, and the Jeronimus Property. There is no oil stored on the Jeronimus property. The <br />faci]ity is in compliance wi[h dte SPCC regulations in 40 CFR 112.
