SEP-15-2003 10:33Ai1 FROM-AGGREGATE INDUSTRIES ~' ~_ Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan New Thom[on Pit August 5, 2D03 1.0 GENERAI, INFORMATION AGGREGATE The purpose of the Spill Prevention Contro] and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan is to provide specific methode that personnel at the facility can use [o comply with the laws and regulations governing the implementation and maintenance of this plan. This plan was prepared to meet the requirements of 40 CFR 112 and includes a discussion of conformance with applicable requirements and other effective discharge prevention and containment procedures [§112.7(j) and § ] 12.8(x)]. Appendix, A prorides a table with cross-references between the requirements in 40 CFR 112 and the appropriate section in this SPCC Plan. The SPCC Plan serves as a guideline for all Aggregate Industries employees involved in the handling, transfer, removal, or storage of oil materials (e.g., petroleum, oil, lubricants, used oils) stored at the facility and For persons involved in the inspection of these storage areas. Spill prevention measures at the si[e must include, but need not be limited to, the ttdnimum measures identified herein. The Plant Manager is responsible for maintenance and execution of the plan including, but not limited to, inspections, training, and repoRing of spills. 1.1 MANAGEMENT APPROVAL Aggregate Industries is committed to the prevention of dischazges of oil to navigable waters and the environment through the implementation of spill prevention measures. This SPCC plan is one part of that effort. The designated responsible person for spill prevention and cleanup at the site is directly responsible for implementing the plan and communicating the plan ro their employees. The site includes mining pits, conveyors, and classification machinery. The facility consists of the North Property, the South Property, and the Jeronimus Property. There is no oil stored on the Jeronimus property. The faci]ity is in compliance wi[h dte SPCC regulations in 40 CFR 112.
