TRAPPER MINING INC.
December 4, 2003
Ms. Janet Binns
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Minerals & Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 2I5
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Ms. Binns:
~~~~~ ~ll~~~
DEC 0 81003
Givision of Minerals and Geolog~~
;Re: Trapper Mining Inc., Permit No. C-81-010, Minor Revision MR-192
Change Perimeter and Topsoil Marker Colors _
Please find enclosed duplicate copies of permit revision application materials for MR-192. With this
application, Trapper is requesting approval to change the perimeter and topsoil marker colors from
fluorescent orange to white PVC pipe.
To process this revision the following change should be incorporated into the permit document:
Replace Figures 3.1-3 (page 3-6) and 3.1-4 (page 3-7) with the updated attached sheets.
The current requirement to use fluorescent orange signs with black lettering has proven to be
maintenance intensive and serves no useful purpose that we can see. Each year we have summer
students spend several weeks painting each permit marker fluorescent orange and then adding either a
black "T" for topsoil pile or "P" for perimeter marker. Within a few weeks, the fluorescent orange
color has already begun to fade. It will be much more economical for Trapper to allow the PVC pipe
to fade out to white and paint the letters on the white color instead of the fluorescent orange color.
There will be no engineering requirements or mine plan changes due to this minor revision, therefore,
no bond changes are requested. Trapper currently holds a performance bond for $25,900,000.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns with the enclosed information.
Sincerely,
~ro~.~i.(N/L
Frank Self!
Sr. Environmental Specialist
FMs
[MR192 Cover Letter]
c Jane[Binns-two copies
File 109.2.3.4
Revisions File
John Husband, BLM
P.0.
