Revision No. AM-01
Dear Mr. Graham:
On November 15, 1989 the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board conditionally
approved the amendment application submitted to the Division on May 1 , 1989,
addressing the addition of 26.2 acres, The terms of the revision approved by
the Board are hereby incorporated into Permit No. M-81-302.
The conditions of the Board approval are noted below. Please note that all
other provisions of Permit No. M-81-302 remain in full force and effect.
1 . The operator will not commence mining operations in the new
amendment area until it submits to the Division for approval a
hydrologic survey demonstrating that pit dewatering will not
adversely affect the quality or quantity of water in adjacent water
resources and wells.
2. The operator will not commence mining operations in the new
amendment area until it submits, has approved, and implements a
groundwater monitoring program designed to detect adverse
disturbances to the prevailing hydrologic balance of the affected
land and of the surrounding area and to the quality and quantity of
water in surface-water and ground-water systems both during and
after the mining operation and during reclamation.
3. The operator will not commence mining operations in the new
amendment area until it submits to the Division copies of all
agreements between the operator and the owners of all relocated
irrigation ditches.
The amount of financial warranty increase set by the Board for the new
amendment area is $51 ,114. You must submit a change in your existing
$61 ,000 Financial Warranty to reflect this increase.
