Gunnison Mining and Reclamation Plan. WECC proposes to
auger drill four three-inch diameter holes to bedrock in the
locations shown on the attachment to this letter. Holes 1 and 2
will be drilled to gather foundation and soil data for the
construction of the coal crusher and coal analyzer approved by the
CMLRD on January 3, 1985 (Document No. 6502). The drill sites are
within a previously disturbed area immediately east of the breaker
building. Upon completion of drilling, the holes will be backfilled
with the drill cuttings.
In addition, WECC is proposing to auger drill holes 3 and 4 as shown
on the attachment to gather foundation and soil data as part of a
study to determine the feasibility of constructing a retaining wall
on the north facing slope immediately west of the coal storage
silos. Designs and reclamation costs for the retaining wall will be
supplied to the CMLRD if constructed. Like holes 1 and 2, holes 3
and 4 will be drilled to bedrock and backfilled upon completion of
drilling. These holes are also within the disturbed surface
facilities area.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
~~
Paige Seville
Sr. Permits Coordinator
PBB/mp
cc: D.
