Box 53
Saguache, CO 81149
Dear Mr.Scanlon,
In regards to request for soils information at SW '/<, NW '/<, Section 24 Township 49N
Range 8W, I am sending you the enclosed information. As you can see from the aerial
photograph the area has not yet been remapped by our soils department. The only
map unit that exists on the photograph is a 901 which I have sent the map unit
description for. I spoke with Chris Gebaurer, Soil Scientist, who pulled the Pedon
Description Form for the area on the photograph described as 901 and it is likewise
enclosed. This is the most current information that we have of the area and is a draft
copy, which means it is subject to change. I have also enclosed a copy of part of the
older Delta/Montrose Area Survey which will give you general climate information. If
you have questions Chris Gebaurer said that you can contact him at (970)249-8407 ext.
120. Chris is generally in the office between 8:30-9:15 in the mornings. Good luck with
your work.
Sincerely,
~cx~ ~~cJ-!~j
Claudette Nicolas
NRCS/Montrose Field Office
The Natural Resource Conservation Service works in partnership with the American People
to conserve and sustain natural resources on private lands.
