(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-2002-019
INSPECTIONZSATE_3/25%02_ INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRM
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the permk review fora 110c application under review by the Division of Minerals and
Geology. The Gray PR No. 1 is located approximately 8 miles east of Montrose. The weather was cloudy with intermittent
snow showers that did not prevent or hinder the inspection. The inspector was accompanied by fellow DMG Staff Member,
Steve Shuey and operator's representative Mike Ripp.
The purpose of this inspection is apre-operational visit to the site to identify any issues that may have been missed in the
application.
The site is approximately one half mile north of Highway 50 along the drainage floor of two ridges. The site may be partialty
visible during the beginning phases of the operation. However, it appears that most activities will be screened by an earthen
dike and natural topography.
The proper public notice was observed at the site entrance just off the highway. Boundary markers were noted as t-posts at
critical comers. It is highly recommended that the operator mark boundary lines more thoroughly to insure that no disturbance
outside the permitted area occurs.
No permanent structures or features appear to have been missed wfthin the permit application other than those identified in
the Preliminary Adequacy Review.
There appears to be sufficient topsoil and overburden to arxomplish the stated goals of the Reclamation Plan. Wetlands will
be protected with markers and silt fencing. The site is populated by juniper, oakbrush and pinion on the ridges. Sagebrush,
rabbitbrush and various grasses were also abundant.
No other issues were noted at this time.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ. Means at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Juncflon
Field Office, 101 South 3r0 Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no. 970-241-1117.
I & E Contact Address
NAME
OPERATOR
STREET
CITY/STATE2IP
Grav PR Mo. 1
Nick Grav
P.O.
