Cresson Project Phase IVb, c Construction Quality Assurance
Dear Mr. Roberts,
Golder Associates Inc. (Golder) is pleased to submit this summary of Phase IVb and c Construction
Quality Assurance (CQA) services performed for the Cresson Project during the period of May 11
through May 17, 2003.
The weather dwing this reporting period was clear to cloudy. Approximate daytime low
temperatures ranged from 24° F to 41 ° F, and highs ranged from 58° F to 75° F. Rain was recorded
on May 15. Weather observations were made on six days of this seven-day reporting period.
Construction Synopsis
Ames Construction Ina (Ames) of Aurora, Colorado is the earthworks contractor for the Phase IVb and
c construction. Ames conducted Phase Nb and c construction activities on six days of this seven-day
reporting period (May 12 through May 17, 2003). Poly-Flex conducted Phase IVb construction
activities on six days of this seven-day reporting period (May 12 through May 17, 2003).
Phase IVb
Ames continued excavation of the upper Phase fVb PSSA geomembrane primary anchor trench and the
lower secondary anchor trench, excavating approximately 200 feet of northern primary anchor trench,
and approximately 150 feet of south ore slope secondary anchor trench.

Ames hauled, placed, and compacted Structural Fill (SF) ore material to construct the east end berm of
the Phase IVb PSSA. The inboazd slope of the berm was graded and surveyed prior to placement of
Bedding Fill.
