Canany <br />Division DIreCIOr <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on May 25, 2005, an application to revise coal <br />mining operations at the Foidel Creek Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was <br />submitted by Twentymile Coal Company (applicant). All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and <br />the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />This Technical Revision would permit construct of the 6-North mains shaft and associated ancillary equipment and <br />facilities. The Division has asked the applicant to transmit to you three maps of the revision application: Exhibit <br />EX 16F-Ml Wetland Delineation 6MN Intake Shaft; Exhibit EX 16F-M2, Wetland Delineation 6MN Intake Shaft; <br />and Map 24, Sheet 3 of 3, 04/22/05. Copies of the complete revision application are on file at the offices of <br />Twentymile Coal Company at the Foidel Creek Mine site (29515 Routt County Road #27, telephone 970-879- <br />3800), at the Routt County Court House (Clerk and Recorder's Offices), and at the Division. Copies of the <br />complete Permit Application Package are on file at Foidel Creek Mine site and at the Division. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 23 miles Southwest of Steamboat <br />Springs, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />In portions of Sections 7, 8, 9, T4W, R86W; Sections 32 and 33, T6N, R86W; Sections 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 34, 35 <br />and 36 in TSN, R87W; and all of TSN, R86W with the exception of Sections 34, 35, and 36. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Rattlesnake Butte, Cow <br />Creek, Dunckley, Milner, Mount Harris, and Oak Creek. <br />Because the above referenced technical revision application would incorporate additional lands into the permit <br />area or might otherwise alter previously approved permit conditions or mitigation measures, we aze requesting <br />your agency's evaluation of the potential for impacts to threatened or endangered species of plants or animals, or <br />wildlife species otherwise protected by federal law. <br />Office of Office of Colorado <br />Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey <br />
