Abstract <br />On October 17 and 18, 2001, Greystone Environmental Consultants conducted a <br />cultural resource inventory of selected portions of a block azea for 25 proposed drill <br />pad locations and access roads. This inventory was conducted in the Gunnison <br />National Forest in Sections 10, 11, 14, 15, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, and 28, T13S, R90W, <br />Gunnison County, Colorado. The inventory was conducted for Mountain Coal <br />Company, LLC, West Elk Mine, Somerset, Colorado. The surveyed areas consisted <br />of level to gently sloping ridgetops and drainage bottoms. Areas of steep slopes, <br />greater than 30% grade, were excluded from the survey, and approximately 20% of <br />the total area was covered by pedestrian survey. The total azea of pedestrian survey <br />was approximately 560 acres. Vegetation varied with the setting. No cultural <br />resources were found.
