RECiUEST BE Approved FOR THE FOLLOlYI1dG REASONS:
1. This request is in compliance with the Weld County Comprehensive Plan and the
ldeld County Extraction Plan, Mineral Resources, Volume II. The area in question
is located in a resource conservation area. The Weld County Extraction Plan
states that extraction shall be encouraged in resource conservation areas as long
as appropriate extraction standards are followed.
2. It is the opinion of the Department of Planning Services Staff that the gravel
operations as outlined and controlled in the Operations Standards will minimize
impacts on surrounding uses and the area to the greatest extent possible and
provide adequate protection of the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants
of the area and the County.
3. It is the opinion of the Department of Planning Services Staff tha h;s
proposed operation is in compliance with the provisions of Section 3 3 E 2 and
6.1.(3) of the Weld County Zoning Resolution.
These determinations are based in part upon a review of the information submitted
by the applicant, other relevant information regarding the request and the response
of the referral entities which have reviwed this request.
The Department of Planning Services Staff recommendation for approval is conditional
,;pnn the fo]lowing:
1. The attached Operations Standards being recommended and approved for this request.
2, The following note being placed on the SpecialUse Permit Plat:
NOTE: The Mined Land Reclamation Board has the authority to issue permits for
mining and reclamation activities. Activities related to mining and
reclamation are, therefore, under tl~e jurisdicition of the Mind Land
Reclamation Board, however, IJeld County has jurisdiction of those matters
outlined in the Operations Standards.
3. The Operations Standards being placed on the Special Use Permit plat. The
Special Use Permit plat shall be delivered to the Department of Planning Services.
