Lune <br />Dnnuin Dire~mr <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology proposes to grant a reduction in the <br />performance bond for Enron Coal Company's Meeker Area Mines. Enron Coal Company has <br />requested a reduction in liability from X307,000.00 to 8184,071.00. The reduction in <br />liability reflects credit given for topsoil replacement and successful reestablishment <br />of vegetative cover on 16.24 acres of previously disturbed land. <br />The Meeker Area Mines are located in Rio 6lanco County, approximately ten miles east <br />of Rangely. The legal description of the land is as follows: <br />Rienau #2 Mine: 5.03 acres in the center of Section 29, Township 2 North, Range <br /> 93 West of the 6th Principa l Meridian <br />Refuse Facility: 4.08 acres in the Nl/2 of t he SE1/4 of Section 20, Township 2 <br /> North, Range 93 West of the 6th Principal Meridian <br />Norther n rYl Mine: 7.13 acres in the 9E1/4 of the NWl/4 of Section 21, Township 2 <br /> North, Range 93 West of the 6th Principal Meridian. <br />Copies of the release request are available at the Rio Blanco County Courthouse in <br />Meeker, Colorado, and at the Division of Minerals and Geology in Denver, Colorado. <br />Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by the <br />proposed decision or any responsible officer or head of any Federal, State or local <br />government agency which has jurisdiction by law or special expertise with respect to <br />any environmental, social or economic impact involved in the operation or which is <br />authorized to develop and enforce environmental standards with respect to such <br />operations may request an adjudicatory hearing and must state, with specificity, the <br />reasons why the hearing is requested and must be received within thirty (30> days of <br />the first publication of the proposed decision by the Division.
