10. In conformance with Rule 6.3.3(1)(1), please provide an assessment of the need for
underground hydrologic controls within mine (including pumping) during mining in order to
maintain a zero discharge facility. (As part of this assessment, the Applicant may want to
differentiate areas of pre-law workings & groundwater inflows vs. new workings & groundwater
inflows).
11. If underground hydrologic controls are needed, as identified in Item 10 above, please provide
a plan which will be used during the mining phase of the operation to determine is there is a
hydrologic connection between groundwater and surface water, and resulting springs or seeps
(visible surface expressions of emerging groundwater)
12. In conformance with Rule 6.6.6(1)(g), please describe the nature of any improvements or
upgrades planned for the existing County Road (or any other existing roads) to facilitate ore
haulage from Mount Royale Adit No. 1 to Gold Hill Mill. Please clarify whether prior approval
from Boulder County will be required and provide engineering details of the planned changes,
including drainage controls.
13. In conformance with Rule 6.3.3(1)(0), please verify if there will be any changes to the
existing Blasting Plan in order to cant' out the proposed mine plan for adit production.
6.3.4 EXHIBIT D -Reclamation Plan
14. In conformance with Rule 6.3.4(1), please provide a discussion and conceptual diagram of
the hydrologic conditions to be expected within the Cash Mine during final reclamation, ie:
where will groundwater be located and at what elevation.
15. In conformance with Rule 6.3.4(1), please clarify whether hydraulic seals or bulkheads will
be needed during final reclamation in order to maintain a zero discharge facility. If so, please
specify how many will be needed, where they will be installed, and provide geologic/engineering
information needed for design of the structure(s). The Division also requests that you provide a
conceptual design and dimensions (length, width, height) for each structure.
16. In conformance with Rule 6.3.4(2) please provide itemized costs for each hydrologic control
that will be required during mining and/or reclamation in order to maintain a zero discharge
facility. Hydrologic controls may include bulkheads, seals, grout, paste backfilis, or additional
drilling to create positive drainage of mine water back into the mine workings.
6.3.6 EXHIBIT F -List of Other Permits and Licenses Required
17. In conformance with rule 6.3.6, please verify whether the applicant holds or will seek a
WQCD-NPDES Water Discharge Permit or an EPA-LTIC Permit in order to conduct the
proposed mining and reclamation operations.
