MANAGEMENT
~f~.G'L"vi[~yy.
~`~hr~. ,
' JUL > > 11b1
The DMG's letter dated July 13, 2001, transmitted its comments regarding the referenced
minor revision. Following are PCC's responses to the DMG's comments and concerns:
Lodestar has a coal contract with TVA for a period of 12 months. Operation of the
loadout is to begin during July or August, 2001 and end in July or August, 2002.
Contract extensions are probable.
The DMG requested a commitment to initiate reclamation of the loadout and
railroad spur in accordance with Figure 14-1 within various time periods. Page 14-1
was revised accordingly. Page 14-1 was also amended to state that all portions of
the mine site, other than the loadout and railroad spur, will remain in permanent
cessation so the reclamation timetable specified in Figure 14-1 will not be effected
by the loadout operation.
3. The statement on amended page 13-5 was corrected. The 2001 calendar year is
Year 1 of the reclamation schedule. The paragraph regarding the reclamation
schedule was moved to amended page 14-1
4. Page 13-5 was revised to indicate up to 50,000 tons will be stored at the loadout at
any one time. Enclosed is an updated Construction Permit, numberl l-ME-670-1 F,
for the loadout to be incorporated into the permit at Appendix 16-1. The
Construction Permit has the following limitations:
a. Coal transfer from the Unit Train Loadout by truck shall not exceed 300,000
tons per year, and 2,000 tons per day.
b. Coal transfer to the Unit Train Loadout by truck shall not exceed 200,000
tons per year, and 2,000 tons per day.
