OF MINERAI$ <br />8 GEOLOGY <br />Re: Golden Eagle Mine: Permit No. C-81-013 <br />Response to Division Review of Bond Release SL-02 and <br />Revision of Permit Boundary <br />Dear Mr. Gorham: <br />Basin Resources has completed a review of the nine items referenced in the Division letter of July 16, <br />1998. 'fhe following responses are intended to respond to those concerns: <br />1. The Apache Canyon Airshafts. Greystone has submitted for Picketwire Processing, LLC, a minor <br />revision to the New Elk permit, No. C-81-012, removing the Apache Canyon Airshafts from the <br />permit. In conjunction with this action, Basin Resources is requesting the insertion of these airshafts <br />into the Golden Eagle permit. <br />Included with this submittal are Map 3C -Apache Canyon North Avshaft and Map 3D -Apache <br />Canyon South Airshaft, showing the proposed permit boundary and disturbance areas for these <br />facilities. Exhibit 32 has been created to include the information removed from [he New Elk permit <br />Exhibit 25 -Apache Canyon Ventilation Shaft. Also revised are pages 2.05-5 to 2.05-8, Exhibit 19-7, <br />and the listing of Table of Contents: Exhibits and Maps. <br />2. Upon approval of the permit boundary changes, mine identification signs will be located a[ points of <br />access from public roadways. <br />3. Section 2.04 of the permit has been revised to show [he updated data on permit acreage and a proposed <br />metes and bounds description of the permit boundary. Upon approval, permit boundary markers will <br />be located in the field. If necessary, these boundaries will be surveyed, and an "as surveyed" metes <br />and bounds description submitted to the State. <br />4. Basin has contracted with a local fabricator [o modify [he inlets to the two drop boxes. <br />5. Enclosed with this submittal are the two Apache Canyon maps (also referenced in item I). Greystone <br />has submitted under separate cover the revised Surface and Coal Ownership maps (Maps I & 2), and <br />the Hydrologic Monitoring Site maps (Maps 7A & 7B). <br />
