PUBLIC NOTICE <br />NATIONAL KING COAL, LLC, 4424 County Road 120, Hesperus, Colorado 81326, phone (970} 385-4528, <br />has filed an application for a permit revision to a valid existing permit for the King I Mine (permit C-81-035) <br />with the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. The subject of the revision is a change to the <br />orientation of the underground mine workings layout. The mine is located in portions of Sections 31 and 32; <br />T35N, Rl l W, N.M.P.M., Section 36; T35N, R12W, N.M.P.M., and Sections 5, 6, 7 and 8; T34N, RI1 W, <br />N.M.P.M., La Plata County, Colorado. The surface of the azea to be mined is owned by Huntington Ranches. <br />The minerals of the area to be mined are owned by Bureau of Land Management. All mining activities of King <br />I mine lie to the south side of Hay Gulch, approximately 4.5 miles southwest of Hesperus, as identified on <br />U.S.G.S. 7.5-minute quadrangles of Thompson Park, Hesperus, Mormon Reservoir, and Kline. Underground <br />mining methods are proposed. The proposed land use at the completion of mining is rangeland. <br />A copy of the application is available for public review aY the La Plata County Clerk and Recorder's Office, La <br />Plata County Courthouse, 1060 Second Avenue, Durango, CO 81302, and at the Colorado Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman St., Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, phone (303) 866- <br />3567. Anyone with a valid interest may submit written comments or objections within 30 days of the last <br />publication of this notice. All comments, objections, and requests must be submitted in writing to the Colorado <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety at the above address.
