Our findings, conclusions and recommendations are summarized in
GROUND'S report, Slope Stability Analyses, Brighton Water Storage Projecf, Adams
County, Colorado, Job No. 02-0065, prepared for Les Ewegen, LLC, dated tvtay 31,
2002. At the request of Les Ewegen, LLC, we have reviewed comments by the
Colorado Division of Mines and Geology indicating violations pertaining to temporary
slope stability. These comments and our responses are presented below. Reference is
made to our May 31, 2003, report for a description of the site surface and subsurface
conditions, our general geotechnical findings and recommendations, and the Limitations
on our work, which also apply to GROUND'S conclusions and recommendations
provided herein. V+le consider al{ recommendations in that report not specifically
superseded herein to remain vano.
We understand that measurements by the Division of Mines and Geology on February
11, 2003, indicated that certain temporary slopes at the subject facility were at 68
percent, 70 percent and 71 percent slope gradients -corresponding to slope angles of
about 34 to 35'/z degrees above horizontal. The measured slopes, therefore, were
RI~U~IID
E N G I N E E R I N G C O N S U L T P N T S
41 Inverness Driva Paul, Englewood, CO 80]]2-54]2 ~ Pbone (303) 2R9-3989 Fax (303) 2R94GRG
Narlh Offirv~ 7393 Dahlia SReei, Commerce City, CO 800224634 wwsv.groundang.ram
