While we believe that many of the
questions were answered during the August 26, 2003 joint field inspection of the Bulldog site with Diane
Gese of the USFS -Divide Ranger District, we are providing the following information to assure that we
have responded to all questions that were raised in both documents.
The questions outlined in the 8/11/031etter and the 8/26/03 inspection report are repeated here, along
with our responses, to assist in review of the information.
8H1/03 DMG Letter- Question Response
Question #1: "The six sheets of drawings present the finished work well. There is a notation on Sheet
1 that indicates that there may be a seventh sheet, entdled "Road Plan and 9360 Soil Cover Plan." No
such sheet was furnished to this office, and no other mention of it exists elsewhere in the packet. Since
the maintenance/stabilization of certain onsite roads is a concern to this office, as well as the onsite use
of topsoil for reclamation, I would request that if this drawing does exist, please forward Iwo copies of it
to this office."
Response: The as-built drawings were to inGude six drawing sheets; the reference to Sheet 7
was in error. The original bid construction package had 7 drawings and included a drawing
with 2 items: 1) a map showing the areas of the 9360 dump that was to be soil covered and 2)
a map of the road to the lower tailings facility as it was ident~ed for repair and improvment as
part of the construction bid package.
Attached are two copies of the map showing the 9360 dump area that was covered with soil
material. We do not currently have a map showing the location of the 4-5 waterbar locations
that were placed on the road to the lower tailings site. If required, we can generate a map of
the road with waterbar locations; these are the only features on the road that were added
during construction activities. All other work on the road involved ditch clean-0ut, silt Gean-out
of road culvert inlets and smoothing of ruts in the roadway caused by lack of drainage controls
(waterbars).
6719-D ACADEMY RDAD NE, ALBUDUERq UE, NM 871 D9 TELE: ISOSI 828-1621 FAX: 15051 828.1626
