Long
Divisia~ Direr for
The Division has reviewed and deemed complete, for the purposes of filing, the
above referenced minor revision submitted by Mountain Coal Company (MCC). The
revision proposes to drill several boreholee to collect geotechnical data or
complete as piezometere. MCC should respond to the following questions regarding
this revision:
1. The NOI information was not attached to the revision application ae stated
in the cover letter. However, X-95-212-04 was reviewed.
2. A map should be provided which shows the locations of the boreholes and
piezometere.
3. The following assumptions were made to calculate the bond:
A. Holes not completed as piezometere would be reclaimed as stated in
the NOI. Please clarify.
B. The diameter of the soil borings will be 8 inches and the diameter
of the piezometere will be 2 inches. Please clarify.
C. All areas have been previously disturbed except for the LRP hole.
Please clarify. Topsoiling and seeding were not calculated for this
hole as it is an alternate to LRP-1 and these costa were included in
the NOI.
4. Based on the above assumptions, the Division has calculated the coat of
sealing the holes to be $2,418.00. This cost and the additional indirect
costs brings the total bond amount to $5,512,144.00. As MCC's reclamation
bond is $5,700,000.00, no additional bond is needed.
The above information should be submitted as soon as possible, as a proposed
decision is due on October 27, 1995.
call if you„ have any questions.
ly~ /~%] ~7 /1
Christine E.
Environmental
ion Specialist
CEJ/007MR168 ~-/
~,
ro r9^~.5
