Long <br />Division Direclnr <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 1 l6, <br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on August 24, 1998, an application to revise coal mining <br />operations at the Bowie No. 2 Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was <br />submitted by Bowie Resources Limited. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and [he <br />Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />This Technical Revision proposes to add a shaft and ventilation fan to the mine facilities. The shaft and fan would <br />be located on the uppermost facilities bench. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 5 miles northeast of Paonia, Colorado. <br />The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 14, l5, and 16, Township 13 South, Range 90 West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection a[ the Delta County Courthouse, 5th <br />& Palmer, Delta, CO 81416, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide written <br />comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that <br />comments be submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
