The <br />revision was submitted by MINREC, Inc. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the <br />Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />The revision addresses issues raised by the Division during its midterm review of the North Thompson Creek <br />permit application. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately nine miles southwest of Carbondale, <br />Colorado. The mine site is located in Pitkin County in Sections 34 and 35, Township 8 South, Range 89 West, <br />6th P.M. The loadout is located in Garfield County in Section 6, Township 8 South, Range 88 West, and <br />Sections 29, 30, and 32, Township 7 South, Range 88 West, 6th P.M. These tracts of land are shown on USGS <br />7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Stony Ridge and Carbondale, respectively. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Garfield County Courthouse <br />in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide written <br />comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that <br />comments be submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
