Revegetation

Revegetation is an integral part of the reclamation plan. Afrer the topsoil is placed, the seeding
of the grass will be initiated as soon as practical. Below is the seed mixture and application
density:
Species
Arizona fescue
Mountain muiey
Idaho fescue
Subalpine forb mix
°, ,.
Applicatr`btt DensitylPure Live Seed
20 pounds/acre
15 pounds/acre
7 pounds/acre
3 pounds/acre
The seed mix chosen was based on soils, climate, and current reclamation techniques. Seeding
stock will be selected for appropriate sources, i.e., U.S. Forest Service nurseries.
Odser Noles:
-All seeding sites will be prepazed for seeding by discing. No compacting is needed for
these soils. If necessary, as shown by soil test in the initial application, amendments will
be incorporated during discing.
-Mulching will not be required because of the overall gravel content of the soils.
-Weed control is not expected to be a problem. If weed control does become a problem,
one or more of the following agencies will be contacted to work out an acceptable weed
control program: U.S. Forest Service, Colorado State University Extension Service
and/or [he Soil Conservation Service.
-Natural moisture will be relied upon to promote the growth in the revegetated azeas.
All other aspects of the reclamation plan are the same as the original application.
E-3
