Long <br />1999 Broadway, Suite 3320 Division Director <br />Denver, CO 80202-5733 <br />Re: New Horizon Mine (Permit No. C-81-008) <br />Technical Revision No. 19 (Land Use Change and Topsoil Deficit) <br />Dear Mr. Holbrook: <br />Pursuant to the Colorado Surface Coal 141ining Reclamation Act, C.R.S. 34-33-101 et seq., the <br />Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice that on July 7, 1994, a technical revision <br />application for a permit to conduct coal mining operations by Western Fuels-Colorado, 405 Urban <br />Street, Suite 305, Lakewood, Colorado 80228, was deemed complete for the purposes of filing. <br />All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act and Regulations promulgated thereunder <br />initiate from this day of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to revise surface coal mining operations at the New Horizon Mine. The <br />revision pertains to a revised post-mining land use and topsoil redistribution depth plan at the <br />New Horizon 2 azea of the mine. <br />The New Horizon Mine permit azea is located approximately 2.5 miles from Nucla, Colorado. <br />The area affected by this revision is located within the following described lands: <br />E''h NW'/a, W'/z NE'/a, W'/z W'/z SE'/ NE'/ and portions <br />of NEt/a SW'/a, NWt/a SE'/a, NE'/a SE'/a, and N'/z SE'/a SE'/a, <br />all in Section 6, Township 46 North, Range 15 West. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land aze shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Nucla. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Montrose <br />County Courthouse Annex in Nucla, Colorado.
