Date (if no dates mp): ip-II-OZ.
ITEC Environmental Colorado, Inc. is writing this letter to address the technical
issues that the Division of Minerals and Geology raised regarding the change in the status of
the 110 Reclamation Permit for the Gold Hill Mill. The request for an approval of a
Temporary Cessation of the Gold Hill Mill's 110 Reclamation Fermit is renewed with this
letter. No screening ox processing operations at the Gold Hill Mill have occurred since the
Mill was last operated in 1999.
1). At the present time, a stockpile of material hauled from the Cash Mine dump
remains on the pertnitted ore stockpile area. Approximately one-half of this material has
been screened, and is available for processing in the Gold Hill Mill. The Gold Hill Mill's
tailings pond was designed to contain all of the Cash Mine dump after screening eliminated
the oversized waste product. Milling operations at the Gold Hill mill will resume when the
price of gold and sIlver increase to a level that justifies processing this material. ITEC
Environmental Colorado, Inc. will notify the Division of Minerals and Geology thirty (30)
days before processing any of the Cash Mine dump material located on the ore stockpfle
area.
2). ITEC intends to restore the water lines from Left Hand Canyon, the Cash Mine
and the Hazel A. adit before resuming milling operations at the Gold Hill Mill. The tailings
pond surface levels at the various levels of stormwatex control will be determined and the
actions and personnel involved in controlling the volume of water in the pond will be
designated before any milling operations are commenced. ITEC will notify the Division of
Minerals and Geology when pumping operations are initiated and completed. The volume-
depth curves from the 1998 tailings pond design will be used to set the limits of the tailings
pond surface levels to insure that the pond has a safe freeboard at all times.
