McArdle
Senior Reclamation Specialist
Mined Land Reclamation Division
Colorado Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 423
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Jim:
As you are aware, the construction of the Middle Fork Dam on the Colony Resource
Block is nearing completion with the State Engineer's final inspection scheduled
for the end of this month. Reclamation needs have been reduced in_this area due
to the use of Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) technology which required signifi-
cantly less native quarry and core material than had been planned with the
former earthfill dam design. The Upper Middle Fork Reclamation Plan is enclos-
ed.
This area will be revegetated using the approved Colony Resource Block Seed Mix.
Exxon would also like to experiment with the following additional native species
in the Upper Middle Fork Area:
Species
Mountain Lupine (Lupines alpestris)
Arrow leaf Balsamroot (Balsamorhiza
sagittata)
Hooker Evening Primrose (Oenothera
hookeri)
Fringed Sagebrush (Artemesia frigida)
Oakbrush Sumac (Rhus trilobata)
Woods Rose (Rosa woodsii)
Blue Elderberry (Sambucus cerulea)
Western Snowberry (Symphoricarpos
oreophilus)
# Of Pounds No. of
Seeds/lb.
