Box 68 Di~isinn Dirednr <br />Kremmling, Colorado 80459 <br />Re: Canadian Strip Mine (Permit No. C-81-026) <br />Technical Revision Application No. OS <br />Modification of Woody Plant Density <br />Dear Ms. Dzielak: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 33, Article 34, <br />Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on May 3, 1996, an application [o revise coal <br />mining operations at the Canadian Strip Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision <br />was submitted by Slurco Corporation. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the <br />Regulations initiate from this date of Fling. <br />The revision addresses modification of the woody plant density standard. <br />The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 12 miles east of Walden, Colorado. The <br />permit area is in the SW'k of Section 2, NW'k of Section 10, and NE'/e of Section 11, Township 8 North, <br />Range 78 West of the 6th P.M. These tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Johnny <br />Moore. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Jackson County Courthouse, <br />396 Lafever Street, Walden, Colorado 80480, and at the Division of5ce. For additional information or to <br />provide written comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, <br />Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request <br />that comments be submitted within fifteen (151 davs of this letter.
