either resubmit those comments to the Division, referencing the new revisions, or send this Division a
letter stating that you wish to have your original comments apply to the new revisions. There will
also be an opportunity for an informal conference to discuss the proposed revision with our office, if
a conference is requested.
For your information, Bowie Resources has submitted two additional technical revisions for the
Bowie No. 2 Mine. Technical Revision No. 8 requests a change in the mine plan to extract coal in the
west section of their present petmit area. This area is not in federal coal. This change in the mine
plan would continue to use the current room and pillar method of mining and would not involve an
increase in the current production rate. Technical Revision No. 9 is a request for an incidental
boundary change to the permit area in order to establish mine development in federal coal. No
increase in the production rate is proposed. The only mining proposed in the new area is
development mining using conventional mining methods. This technical revision can not be
approved until Bowie Resources has obtained the necessary right-of--entry from the Bureau of Land
Management (BLM). That right-of-entry is currently under review by the BLM.
[f you have any questions, please call me.
Sincerely,
~d L~~~
J seph J.
