~9 ~l~t~dJ
REC~~. ~ ~ L /~ a
~<
To Whom It May Concern: ~ Di Sion of Minerals and Geology
This letter is in regards to the proposed mine known as the COOLEY RESERVOIR AND
FULTON WILDLIFE AREA AMENDMENT NO 1- JERONIMUS PROPERTY.
I am really concerned about the impacts this operation will have oa our property located
at 8021 E. 100' Ave.. We are located next door just north of AGGREGATE
INDUSTRIES plant operations and east of their mining and refilling of the byproducts
operations. The new proposed mine and refill operations will be on the north side of our
property. This area is located in the Platte River basin and is in a high ground water area
and compounded by a dam on the west side ofthe-river, which stops the flow of water
that historicity spread to the west of the river. The new proposed mine and refill operation.
will be in a old gravel. pit; which is now a lake. My conberr} is.if they pumpmore waste
and water into the old lake it will flood our property and make it unusable. I have recently
visited their old plant at 88u' and Riverdale Rd. and the finished waste operation looks
like a moon scope with almost ao plant life. We are already experiencing problems vyith
the dust caused by their operations. We get about a half inch of dust in our office every
week, which is.not good for all the computers and ether office equipment. Our shop
equipment ~ welding-macluaes-and cutting equipraeat }is firil ofdast~d~nusc be
cleaned all the time. When the wind blows hard you can't see 20 ft. in from of you. If
they start the refill operation to our north side it will compound our problem with more
our property, which is greatly reduced and almost impossible to sell at the market value if
we could sell at all. If AGGREGATE INDUSTRIES gets 12 years to complete this
operation it could put an unjust moratorium on the sell of our property for the same
amount of time.
oppose to tfietr app c na ohL for mining on this property.
i~
If you have any questions please Doll our office 303-287-3356 or our home 303-288-
5730.
Thanks for your time.
F]euglas & Phyl~ia~xek
~~ ,~,
~ ~~ 7~
RECEIVED
APR Q 4 2pp~
Division ~f Minerals and Gealagy
ABoioag pue siereuiyu {o uols{nip
V~~~~^3~
