i
EXHIBIT D (Cont'd)

'
When mining is completed in Stage I, Stage II will be started
' and mined in the same manner. Revegetation in Stage I will
commence as mining in Stage II is begun so that a minimum amount
of land will be disturbed at any one time.
The mining process will be carried on primarily by front-end
loaders. The loaders will unload to dump trucks which will carry
the materials to the offsite processing plant. Mining equipment
may include, but is not limited to, front-end loaders, bulldozers,
' dragline and dump trucks.
Dewatering water is discharged to the Gunnison River under
Colorado Department of Health NPDES Permit Number CO-0034321. The
' discharge point and pump location are shown on map Exhibit D-1.
Atap Exhibit D-1 shows the north half of Stage I in its two-
, step mining process. The southern part of S tage I is unmined
except for that part that was mined by Coors some years ago.
'
Stage II, for the pu rposes of this exhibit, is sho wn as unmined.
' For the final depth of the pit, contours and slopes after reclama-
tion, please refer to m ap Exhibit F.
Because the pit is dewatered, materials being removed are damp
enough that dust is not a problem. It is not contemplated that
'
water for dust control will be necessary.
1
