Long Denver, CO 80203 Division Direuor Re: Yoast 1bline (Permit No. C-1994-082) Technical Revision Application No. 15 (TR-15) Utilization of Auger Mining Methods at the Final Highwall Recovery Line Dear Mr. Roberts: The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on January 19, 2001, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Yoast Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Seneca Coal Company. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. This technical revision addresses the increased recovery of existing coal reserves by the utilization of auger mining methods at the final highwall recovery line. The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 7 miles southwest of Hayden, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: T6N, R87W, Portions of Sections 28, 29 and 32 TSN, R87W, Portions of Sections 5, 8, 16, 17, 18, 19.20, 29, 30 The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Mt. Hams & Dunckley The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the time of publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Routt County Courthouse, P.O. Box 773598, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477, and at the Division office. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames. we request that comments be submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
