Exhibit G - Water Information
Protect Water Requirements
Necessary water required for use in dust supression and other
operational functions will be purchased from a municipal source and trucked
to the site. Alternatively, the property owner holds water rights and
these may be converted later for industrial use and developed for use in
the project. The operation will involve crushing/screening of the material
extracted. Water will typically be necessary for the spray bar used on the
crusher and water truck used to suppress dust on roads and stockpile areas
around the site. The volume of water consumed for such functions is
relatively minimal.
Hydrology
Drainage through Waldo Canyon is considered an intermittent channel
according to the U.S.G.S. topographic map for this area. Runoff occurs
during snowmelt and intense summer pluvial events. The drainage thus has
ephemeral characteristics too. Otherwise, the drainage through the
affected area is dry for much of the year or carries minimal base flow.
The channel across the affected area is shallow and armoured with rock
rubble. On the southerly side of the area to be affected the channel
steepens its grade and parallels the access road to U.S. Highway 24 where
the runoff is then conveyed beneath the highway through a 4 to 5 foot
diameter culvert to Fountain Creek.
Above the affected area and adjacent to the building illustrated on
the Exhibit C map, a small earthen impoundment has been constructed across
the drainage. The access road crosses the crest of the impoundment to the
