•
blue
ribbon
coal
company
October 9, 1985
Ms. Susan Mowry
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division
423 Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203
Subject: Sorrow Area Technical Revision - Slue Ribbon Mine
File No. C-047-81
Dear Ms. Mowry:
blue ribbon coal company
p. o. box 58
delta, Colorado 81416
(3031874-7561
We have reviewed the Division's numerous concerns regarding the subject borrow
area. Twelve items of concern are contained in the Division's letter dated
September 17, 1985. Additional concerns are presented in the Division's
letter dated October 2, 1985.
The Division's letter dated October 2, 1985 states in part: "The stability
concerns coupled with questions of right of entry, make the application
unapprovable at this time. If you do not agree and can submit evidence
to refute this conclusion, please do so by October 11, 1985". We may decide
to pursue this Borrow Area Technical Revision in the future. We will not
respond to the Division's concerns by October 11, 1985.
The October 2, 1985 letter also states that we should pursue alternative
sources of cover for the Bench so the revegetation work can be accomplished
this fall. It appears we may have adequate cover material available in
the stockpile areas just below the bench. However, contractor delays,
weather delays and the fact we may not have adequate cover material could
force us to request a time extension far the project until the fall of
1986.
Sincerely,
~H~L J~
Larry M.
