1
• •
C-&1-063: RN-02 B. Pavlik 2
resource as required by rule 4.06.3(2)? Map HGP-16 indicates that the only topsoil
stockpile will be located at the base of the waste pile on the outslope of pond SP-2.
Once again the Division is concerned about protection of the topsoil pile from
contamination as per Rule 4.06.3(2).
II. Permit page 108 and drawing 5 indicate that the office area will not be graded to
blend with the pre-existing landscape. Although this is only a small area,
approximately 1.25 acres, has the Division granted a variance from regrading to
approximate original contour? {~.ti,,,,._: ~ ~~C_E.J ~;~~
III. Reference to map HPG-7 indicates the scoria pit existed pre-law and will not be
reclaimed by Eastside mining. Has the land owner requested the access road
remain? Eastside mining proposes to leave the access road to the facilities and
hence to the scoria pit after reclamation of the office and facilities areas. Has this
variance to reclamation of the road been approved by the Division as per Rule
4.03.2(1)(f)?
IV. The Rifle loadout was removed from the permit in 1990. Page lOSa and 1990
Findings reference the loadout. The operator should remove reference to the
loadout in the text or add the permitting history into the text to make it clear that
the loadout is no longer a part of this permit.
These questions may be answered internally, although I was not successful in finding the
answers. If you have any questions, seek me out.
m:\coal\jhb\c84063rn.2bp
