Lochhead
&ecmne Dueaor
RE: Deserado Mine (C-81-018) """nde'" `°"s
Division Director
Technical Revision 38
I got a little more information from Dave Anderson (via fax) on TR 38. He answered the
location question. He did not however, provide an answer to my second issue, which was:
2. The map portion showing the approximate location of SDH #6 does not coincide with
the location shown on Map 138. Please update Map 138 to include the proposed location
of SDH #6.
So that comment still applies. After reviewing the submittal, I also have the following
comments:
1. The clean water diversion around the drill pad site is referred to as a V-Ditch, and is
shown as a V-ditch on Map 148. The design, however, is for a trapezoidal ditch. Please
clarify which is correct, and make the design, description, and illustration consistent.
2. The SEDCAD+® runs for the pond design are missing the "Subwatershed/Structure
Input/Output" tables for hydrology and sedimentology of the 25-year, 24-hour storm.
Please provide the tables.
3. The pond spillways are sized for flows significantly greater than storm runoff. It would
appear that WF y is anticipating discharge from the drill hole. Please Qrovide the
Division with an estimate of the expected quantity and duration of flow. This information
should also be included in the permit application package.
si,e~imossc.wr
