Judging from the lack of reclamation efforts to date,
I question whether the proposed reclamation of this area is
adequate.
5. Noise pollution and traffic hazards from heavily loaded
trucks entering Highway 24 from Black Canyon Road near the
entrance to Garden of the Gods.
6. Disruption of the local wildlife, including mule deer and
big horn sheep. Incidentally I have observed swift foxes in
the pass area. I believe this may be relatively rare species
and it should be protected.
7. While not a concern of your board, the esthetics of a
strip mine on the mountain deeply concerns everyone who is
interested in the overall long-term economy of our region.
Thank you for your consideration of this letter.
SWHW.n
Sincerely,
pottswood W, H.
